So many are sad, so many are lonely, and so many are without hope, that every rise in your awareness makes a slight difference in the whole of humanity’s collective mind.”

This force cannot be stopped by anyone or thing.
What of the amazing effects being achieved as more hearts wake up and become true to themselves and the world around them?
I didn’t know Mandela had died until I read the tributes to him this morning. Just reading how much he was respected and loved says everything. Total homage to him.
He was dearly loved, and is an inspiration to us all.
That’s an important point, too.
Mandela Continues in Us
If we value Mandela’s impact on the world, the best thing we can do is “to try and adopt his good qualities as your own. If everyone who loves him took on even a fraction of Madiba’s qualities, the world would transform overnight.“
~ from Kadampa Life, “I am the master of my fate” ~ a tribute to Nelson Mandela.
“We need to pick up his words and ideals and carry on for him.
If all of us who believe in peace and freedom do one extra act of peace in his memory, he will never be forgotten.“
~ from “The World has lost Nelson Mandela”

Reiki Heidi once asked on here “Where are the people like him [MLK] today?? We still need heroes…“
Maybe the answer to this question lies in Mandela’s
“A good head and a good heart are always a formidable combination.”
After all, it is within all our capabilities to develop these, don’t you think…?
Our Deepest Fear
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness That most frightens us.
We ask ourselves Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God.
Your playing small Does not serve the world. There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking So that other people won’t feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, As children do. We were born to make manifest The glory of God that is within us.
It’s not just in some of us; It’s in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, We unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we’re liberated from our own fear, Our presence automatically liberates others.
By Marianne Williamson (often mis-attributed to Mandela, but I’m glad he made it famous.)

I like that they’re smiling and singing in celebration of his life, rather than sad and mourning his death.

Without inner peace,
outer peace is impossible.
“We all wish for world peace, but world peace will never be acheived unless we first establish peace within our own minds. We can send so-called ‘peacekeeping forces’ into areas of conflict, but peace cannot be oppossed from the outside with guns. Only by creating peace within our own mind and helping others to do the same can we hope to achieve peace in this world.”
Transform Your Life, Geshe Kelsang Gyatso
By creating peace in our own mind we create peace between nations.
“The only work that will ultimately bring any good to any of us is the work of contributing to the healing of the world.”
“Easter spells out beauty, the rare beauty of new life…” ~S.D. Gordon
Spring is a natural time of rebirth, renewal, and hope on the physical and spiritual levels Humans have felt this in their bones since the dawn of time.
In her recent article Do you ever feel discouraged?Luna Kadampa describes this process of change as “Sloughing off our sense of a limited, fixed, deluded self — a self that doesn’t in any case even exist — and arising and identifying ourselves as a wise, peaceful, positive, loving, happy, blissful, free person instead.”
We can treat ourself with the same loving-kindness we extend to others, and start to mentally shed those unneeded Winter layers to find this rare beauty inside.

Endings are always beginnings.
Because that’s the way the world goes.
For sunshine and blue skies to come, those snowy grey skies have to go, and our thermals with them. Doesn’t sound like bad thing; but it can be a trick to recognise this in normal life.
Holding onto things we really should’ve let go of already is subtle torture.
This is certainly worth thinking about if letting go is problematic for us.
We have tolet go to become. Physically and mentally, even if it’s just a little bit at a time. Otherwise it’s like we’re still wearing our winter woolies even though it’s uncomfortable because the weather’s getter warmer.
Letting old things go and moving onto pastures new can be scary, especially if it isn’t something we planned. But if we’re open to it, we can experience magic in that space we’ve created.
