Awaken to 2014 with a New SuperMoon

Affirmations and qualities to promote
for the Capricorn Supermoon.

 New Super Moon !

The New Moon in Capricorn January 1st 2014 is a SuperMoon.
It’ll affect us all, regardless of star-sign.
* A SuperMoon is “
a new or full moon which occurs with the moon at or near (within 90% of) its closest approach to Earth.”

“Capricorn is an earth element, cardinal mode of energy, so it is highly dynamic and has the potential to be excellent at management, organization and delegation.

The New Moon in Capricorn’s themes are letting go and paving the way for rebirth and aligning with quality and integrity…The climb to the top of the symbolic mountain may feel rough, yet imagine the new possibilities and view when you arrive at the peak.

With persistence and gentle discipline, all things may be achieved.”

“Here,New Moon
in this moment –
there is a gathering
of kindred spirits,
and all there is to do
is to allow
a quieting down –
just a little,Stonehenge stars
just enough to hear
a soft whisper
of calm and of peace
and then ever so gently
taking one more step
just a little deeper,
here,Sun meditator
in the calmest part
of each of our hearts
as we gather
in the peace

But why Easter Eggs? Guest Post and Ostara Story

Ostara EostreAncient History of Easter

The word Easter comes from the Norsemen’s Eustur, Eastar, Ostara and Ostar, and the Pagan Goddess Eostre. These names relate to the season of the growing sun and new birth.
Ancient Egyptians, Persians, Phoenicians and Hindus all believed the world began with an enormous egg.

The egg as a symbol of new life, and the ancient names relating to Spring, the sun growing warmer and encouraging the growth of flower, fauna and humanity; would all account for the Easter period being celebrated, and Easter eggs given as gifts.

Legend of the Easter Egg

The modern belief that eggs are delivered by a rabbit, comes from the legend of the Goddess Eostre. Eostre was walking one fine Spring day and came upon a beautiful little bird. The poor bird’s wing was badly injured and Eostre, feeling great compassion for the little creature, wanted to heal it. But the little bird’ wing was so badly damaged that Eostre knew it would never be able to fly again even after She healed it. So, Eostre decided to help the bird by healing it in a way that would give it mobility and a little something more… She turned it into a rabbit!

During the transformation, the rabbit retained the ability to lay eggs. The rabbit was so grateful to Eostre for saving its life that it laid a sacred egg in Her honor, joyously decorated it and then humbly presented it to the Goddess. She was so pleased and so touched by the rabbit’s thoughtful gift that She wished all humankind to share in her joy. In honoring her wishes, the rabbit went all over the world distributing these beautifully decorated little gifts of life and continues to do so even today.

Ostara and The English Spring Equinox 2013 – Transformation Magic!

Happy Ostara!

The middle of spring brings Ostara .
With night and day standing in perfect balance, there’s a promise of an increase in light as the year progresses.
Ostara is even gently nudging us toward Summer. (Most subtly this year; after a long cold Winter, there’s still snowy days here.)
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ

Ostara, equinox, spring it is called
By what name no matter is paid
But the feeling the joy the loving vibration
Seasons offer us, movement is made

Spring encourages us to lighten up with ourselves and others, which normally helps life to flow more easily.
We can climb out from our winter cocoons, and allow a new way of being to emerge.
We’re empowered to spread those wings of wisdom and compassion and fly in whatever ways we wish.
Blessed be.

“The Goddess Ostara is celebrated now and her wise guidance to us is “It is the perfect time for you to start new projects, access new ideas and give birth to new conditions”. What do you want to birth this spring?

What an exciting time! Can you feel it?
Tune into nature, observe the changes. Reflect on what you want to create for yourself now.

It’s often necessary to let go of the old in order to create space for the new. What can you lovingly release? What can you let go of in order to open up to new possibilities and opportunities?”
The Giggling Goddess, Can You Feel It?

This is an excellent time for personal growth, for mending old conflicts and ensuring the continued growth of treasured friendships. This is a great time of the year to start learning something new as well and taking advantage of skills already learned and becoming more adept at them.

The cosmic gateway opens again, creating a shift point where old energies can be replaced by new ways of being. With focussed intention we can fully create these, to benefit ourselves and others.

Imbolc Blessings

Halfway between the winter solstice and the Spring equinox ~ 31st Jan – 1st Feb shines Imbolc, marking the end of Winter and the beginning of Spring.

Imbolc is the perfect time
for spring cleaning and renewal

At Imbolc we can use the seasonal energies to let go of all that no longer serves us.
This makes room for the new that’s ready to be birthed and appear.
Knowing this is right for us we can peacefully and joyfully welcome these new experiences into our lives.

Priceless Art ~ a Christmas Present

Priceless Art ~

A Christmas Present

Grieving lost ones at Christmas

A touching and poignant piece by Julia.
I’m dedicating it here to all those who have lost loved ones, and still feel that empty space in their lives at Christmas.

I don’t think time heals so much as helps us cope. If they left our lives awhile ago, we can think fondly of those who have passed on; they will still benefit from our positive energy directed towards them. We can offer their memory a smile.

Grief has no time limit

It’s more normal than commonly accepted to still miss loved ones years after their passing. It’s OK do this; just hold ourselves and them with a mind of loving kindness.
Grief takes as long as it does.” (Namaste Consulting Inc)

If their passing was more recent and the pain is still raw, sending them our love in the form of prayers and lights will be of mutual benefit to them and us.
When someone has just died, they are still very present in our minds. The loving energies we send to them become guiding lights on the next stage of their journey.

Be mindful of the love we have in us and all around us this holiday

To remember the dead is to acknowledge the coexistence of pain and love.
(Tim Muldoon)

By remembering those who have gone onto pastures new with loving kindness, we are honouring their memory. As long as we feel comfortable doing this, it’s a beautiful thing to do.

Be kind to ourselves, as well. When we are in pain we are like injured children, who need to be treated gently and tenderly. Being patient with our own suffering helps it to heal. And we’ll never forget our loved ones, “Something in our minds will aways stay.” (Sting)

✿ڿڰۣ(̆̃̃ღ

Cherish those who are still in our lives now. Really be with them. Part of honouring those who have gone from our lives is treasuring the people who are still here.

The greatest gift you can offer loved ones is your true presence.” (Thich Nhat Hanh) Celebrating Christmas as you normally would, giving genuine smiles of joy – this is a real Christmas present to our loved ones.

Journey with Julia

Another day, another loss . . . all great love has a cost.

Please remember just to breathe, as you take this time to grieve.

*

Life is our gift from God above, and He blesses it with love.

Some folks say these gifts don’t last, but God won’t rob us of our past.

These blessings that we receive come with no special guarantees.

One day here, gone tomorrow . . . one day joy, the next, great sorrow.

*

You won’t see that face again?

Just close your eyes, my troubled friend.

God’s gifts will never leave your heart

your memories are your priceless art.

Abundant Bull Moon on Protector Day

Kangso, Jupiter and a Bright Full Moon

Jupiter sitting next to a bright full moon was the beautiful sight greeting me when I opened the front door yesterday morning. Cradled by clouds, with an icy halo, she shone with potent expectancy and power.

View from my front door

View from my front door

* • .¸  This full moon at the end of November brings the energy that leads to abundance & wealth.

My picture doesn’t do her justice; but she was like the bull’s eye in the constellation of Taurus, blazing bright.

The dot at her lower left hand corner is actually Jupiter, which the largest of all the planets. Representing the Lord of Plenty, he shows the way to to a rich and abundant life.
Being in Taurus reinforces this. There was a lunar eclipse in Gemini on the 28th November, “in the stormy Hyades star cluster found dappled along the face of Taurus, the Bull.” (Dark Star Astrology) This gives the feeling of being in of eye of the storm; so a good time to watch our minds, and make sure those stormy emotions don’t take ahold and lead us into trouble.

Tibetan sand mandala

Tibetan sand mandala

But it’s also a time when our minds are sharp. So if we can reign in those strong passions, and use them as fuel, directing them to a desired end, success could well be ours.
This is, after all, a moon of prosperity and beneficence.

And that’s the thing; we need resources, but if we don’t share them, they mean nothing. It’s the giving mind that creates  abundance in return.
From giving comes wealth” the Protector Nagarjuna said.

☽O☾ August Blue Moon in Pisces :'(

)O( The Piscean Blue Moon could leave you an emotional wreck

¸   . •   *   ¨

This moon seems aptly named.

Technically, blue moon is the name given to the second full moon in a single month. It’s fairly unusual – you know the phrase – and won’t happen again for another 3 years.

healing old wounds

But for the more energy sensitive, this “Pisces Moon is the ocean of emotion and the shedding of tears” (J. Rimmer)
I know it isn’t just me that’s been feeling blue this week, with all sorts of crap coming up. Nicky over the road says she’s been “right up and down these past few days”.

“What seems to be emerging are feelings needing to be healed, old wounds being exposed and coming into our awareness, so we can clear the energetic beliefs around our wounds.”
astral insights, Mystic Mamma

We can clear this unhelpful energy with loving-kindness. Gently holding old wounds with a loving mind of generosity and forgiveness, allows even the sufferings we have concealed deep in our consciousness to heal.
It’s like holding a crying child while they calm down.

“Given the strong influence of the moon on our feelings, it is important to take excellent care of yourself during this time and allow feelings to be as they are.”
Angel Coach’s Blog

So don’t worry, just nurture and be kind to yourself.
Cherishing those around us helps tons too.
