Bring Peace

If we are Peaceful,

We are Happy.

“We can blossom like a flower,
and everyone in our family,
our entire society,
will benefit from our peace.”

Being Peace, Tich Nhat Hanh

+ = ˚͜˚

Without inner peace,

outer peace is impossible.

“We all wish for world peace, but world peace will never be acheived unless we first establish peace within our own minds. We can send so-called ‘peacekeeping forces’ into areas of conflict, but peace cannot be oppossed from the outside with guns. Only by creating peace within our own mind and helping others to do the same can we hope to achieve peace in this world.”

Transform Your Life, Geshe Kelsang Gyatso

By creating peace in our own mind
we create peace between nations.

“The only work that will ultimately bring any good to any of us
is the work of contributing to the healing of the world.”

M.Williamson

Dream lands and the waking world are experientially the same. That’s why they both feel equally real, and why we can influence them far more than we give ourselves credit for. We can literally dream a better world for us all.

And because feeding the bad wolf is often our default,
find good reasons to feed the good wolf.

The good wolf benefits most

Besides, nothing annoys your enemies so much as forgiving them ;~)

Pure Mind, Pure World

Pure Mind, Pure World TNH

(̆̃̃ڿڰۣ

This image is dedicated to anybody who is trying to change their mind to make the world a better place, because  it does work.
How could it not?
. • *  ¨
Our world is created by our mind.

We all know this on some level, don’t we?

So we can see that the creation of a purer world depends upon the purity of the minds of the beings who inhabit it.

“Pure Mind, Pure World”
Buddha

(̆̃̃ڿڰۣ

We can see that if we want to make a difference in this world

– which undeniably needs to be done –

it is up to each and every one of us to be brave, and take a look at our own mind.

* Even if we think we’ve already done that…
look again.

There’s always a dark alley hidden away somewhere we can illuminate with the compassionate light of wisdom.

Vajrasattva, Buddha of Purification

Vajrasattva, Buddha of Purification

¨

  ☆ * •. ¸

Our Vajrasattva retreat at Amitabha Centre finishes today.
Many other Buddhists out there are just starting or finishing their winter purification retreats.
So this goes out to all who participated, and most definitely, anybody anywhere who is trying to make the world a better place. Keep up the good work ˚͜˚

You are in very good company!

Through the blessings of all the Holy beings
The truth of actions and effects,
And the power of my pure, superior intention
May all my prayers be fulfilled.

For more on Vajrasattva see Vajrasattva Empowerment.
Vajrasattva is a Buddha of purification. The practice of meditation and recitation of Vajrasattva’s mantra is a very powerful method for purifying our impure mind and actions.
