Animal communication is no big deal, it’s just connecting with our ability to sit patiently next to an animal with a clear, open mind and listen to them.
* Quietly listening with an open mind is a good trick for humans too!
I like how Anna talks about meeting at the frequency of unconditional love in this article. Unconditional Love is simply love without conditions,
so no surprises there.
Which is why it’s so good!
No expectations, agendas, stickiness, boundaries ~ just love.
The other person’s OK just as they are. And in this clear space of true love, communication naturally arises, and speech isn’t needed.
(nb. From a Buddhist point of view, animals are people too.
Which I think makes sense from any sane point of view.)
“Unconditional love never causes any pain or worry, but only peace and joy.”
Geshe Kelsang Gyatso
“When we make the choice to fill our heart space with unconditional love, our worlds blossom into a beauty far greater than we have known.”
Looking and seeing are not the same thing. Helen Keller – deaf and blind since before her second birthday – knew that very well. Her assertion that “Nature sings her most exquisite songs to those who love her” is a beautiful truth. I was contemplating this afresh whilst giving a dragonfly a back tickle a few days ago. This is not a pet or habituated insect, I must add! Rather a free and wild being unknown to me who graced me with their company for some minutes of pure connection. Struck by the presence of the shining soul outside my study, I slowly slipped outside and sat down gently at a distance I felt was comfortably far enough away from their body, so as not to overwhelm them with my relatively gargantuan self.

Here’s the translation…
“UK election and the bad guys won 😦
Miliband, Farage and Clegg all resign.
I don’t blame them. A Tory majority is enough to make anybody want to give up.”
Best we can do?
I reckon it’s to cherish those near us, and as Chandrakirti says, “Have compassion for those with rough minds.”

A time to be kind to ourselves and others, as Mercury gets into its loop-de-loop.

It’s Groundhog Day!
A very funny movie with a brilliantly spiritual twist 😀
Poor old Bill Murray living the same day over and over, until he got it right.
That meant developing a lighter, kinder mind; getting a sense of consideration for others; and basically wising up before he could move on and up into a life of his dreams. Because that’s how we get there, isn’t it.
Knowing this we can avoid repeating our mistakes, while creating a better space for ourselves instead.
Sense of Consideration
Geshe Kelsang Gyatso describes a sense of consideration as:
“a very special inner wealth. It makes us become spiritually rich.”
He also says “itis like beautiful clothes that cause others to be attracted to us.“

Mercury Retrograde
This week is cosmically relevant as well.
Mercury is in his retrograde pre-shadow phase right now. It actually goes retrograde February 6th 2014.
Scientifically this means that the little grey planet’s trajectile loops back on itself, before continuing in a more direct fashion across the night sky.
Astrologically the effect of Mercury’s swing backwards is all about about re-thinking, renovation, reforming… you get the picture.
The traditional advice here, is “Don’t travel, Don’t sign contracts. Don’t marry. Don’t touch electrics!” But the whole Mercury retrograde cycle actually lasts eight weeks and happens three times, sometimes even four times in a year! That’s a long time to hide under the duvet and a real waste of a truly magical time.”
Sorry, but now we’re into it; 2014 looks to be starting off as another challenging year for many.
Can mindful breathing with mantras, gathas or affirmations change this?

Blue Monday
Last Monday, 20th January, is known as ‘Blue Monday’.
According to the Bristol Observer, it’s the ‘gloomiest, most depressing day of the year‘.
So if this week didn’t have the best start, don’t worry, you’re not alone.

“The first few months of 2014 are about integration and clearing. Integrating the old and gracefully clearing the new
is a simultaneous CoCreative process.”
“The universal compassion accomplished through the practice of Sutra teachings and the wisdom accomplished through the practice of Tantric teachings are like two wings of a bird.
Just as both wings are equally important for a bird to fly, so both Sutra and Tantra are equally important for practitioners seeking enlightenment.“
Geshe Kelsang Gyatso
Sutra
Guide to the Bodhisattva’s Way of Life, a poem written by the 7th Century Buddhist master, Shantideva:
“A Bodhisattva is a friend of the world who, motivated by compassion, spontaneously seeks enlightenment to benefit all living beings.”
Affirmations and qualities to promote
for the Capricorn Supermoon.
☽New Super Moon !
The New Moon in Capricorn January 1st 2014 is a SuperMoon.
It’ll affect us all, regardless of star-sign.
* A SuperMoon is “a new or full moon which occurs with the moon at or near (within 90% of) its closest approach to Earth.”
“Capricorn is an earth element, cardinal mode of energy, so it is highly dynamic and has the potential to be excellent at management, organization and delegation.
The New Moon in Capricorn’s themes are letting go andpaving the way for rebirth and aligning with quality and integrity…The climb to the top of the symbolic mountain may feel rough, yet imagine the new possibilities and view when you arrive at the peak.
With persistence and gentle discipline, all things may be achieved.”
A few people have commented on how super charged the energies feel just now.
A friend texted me this morning, “Energy feels good and positive. Welcome 2014.”
I couldn’t agree more.

New Years Affirmations
“On this day, I will strive to see the peace that is everywhere and access the abundance of beauty and joy that lie in every moment.
It is the Eternal Now that I am after.
I will strive to be a magnet for powerful, positive, and miraculous truths, images, words, and music.
I will do everything in my power to clear my mind of the negative energies that have obfuscated my view and distorted my words and actions.
I will create a new paradigm that helps me to recognize only the good qualities in every person, place, and thing that composes my environment.
I will raise my energy and my light to the highest frequencies of love, generosity, charity, compassion, forgiveness, and truth.
I will fill my head with constructive thoughts and images that will help me to further my individual growth so that I can illuminate and inspire the lives of others.
What better time to have a peaceful party for peace.
Well, not a ‘party’ as such, more of a gathering of like minds in solidarity ;~)
Riding the waves of the energy shift towards a new dawn for Earth.
“As the birds sing in the dawn, so a new light dawns on planet Earth. Solidarity
Planets connect in love and peace.”

* (Solidarity – unity of feeling and action)
“Here, in this moment – there is a gathering of kindred spirits, and all there is to do is to allow a quieting down – just a little, just enough to hear a soft whisper of calm and of peace and then ever so gently taking one more step just a little deeper, here, in the calmest part of each of our hearts as we gather in the peace of this place.”
