Sorry, but now we’re into it; 2014 looks to be starting off as another challenging year for many.
Can mindful breathing with mantras, gathas or affirmations change this?

Blue Monday
Last Monday, 20th January, is known as ‘Blue Monday’.
According to the Bristol Observer, it’s the ‘gloomiest, most depressing day of the year‘.
So if this week didn’t have the best start, don’t worry, you’re not alone.

“The first few months of 2014 are about integration and clearing. Integrating the old and gracefully clearing the new
is a simultaneous CoCreative process.”
“The universal compassion accomplished through the practice of Sutra teachings and the wisdom accomplished through the practice of Tantric teachings are like two wings of a bird.
Just as both wings are equally important for a bird to fly, so both Sutra and Tantra are equally important for practitioners seeking enlightenment.“

Guide to the Bodhisattva’s Way of Life, a poem written by the 7th Century Buddhist master, Shantideva:
“A Bodhisattva is a friend of the world who, motivated by compassion, spontaneously seeks enlightenment to benefit all living beings.”
Affirmations and qualities to promote
for the Capricorn Supermoon.
☽New Super Moon !
The New Moon in Capricorn January 1st 2014 is a SuperMoon.
It’ll affect us all, regardless of star-sign.
* A SuperMoon is “a new or full moon which occurs with the moon at or near (within 90% of) its closest approach to Earth.”
“Capricorn is an earth element, cardinal mode of energy, so it is highly dynamic and has the potential to be excellent at management, organization and delegation.
The New Moon in Capricorn’s themes are letting go andpaving the way for rebirth and aligning with quality and integrity…The climb to the top of the symbolic mountain may feel rough, yet imagine the new possibilities and view when you arrive at the peak.
With persistence and gentle discipline, all things may be achieved.”
A few people have commented on how super charged the energies feel just now.
A friend texted me this morning, “Energy feels good and positive. Welcome 2014.”
I couldn’t agree more.

New Years Affirmations
“On this day, I will strive to see the peace that is everywhere and access the abundance of beauty and joy that lie in every moment.
It is the Eternal Now that I am after.
I will strive to be a magnet for powerful, positive, and miraculous truths, images, words, and music.
I will do everything in my power to clear my mind of the negative energies that have obfuscated my view and distorted my words and actions.
I will create a new paradigm that helps me to recognize only the good qualities in every person, place, and thing that composes my environment.
I will raise my energy and my light to the highest frequencies of love, generosity, charity, compassion, forgiveness, and truth.
I will fill my head with constructive thoughts and images that will help me to further my individual growth so that I can illuminate and inspire the lives of others.
I’m not the only one totally stoked about tonight’s 50th episode, am I?
LoL, far from it 🙂

Why We Love Doctor Who:
❤The Doctor’s Magic!
No really, he is!
OK, sorry, not everybody’s into Doctor Who, I’ll grant you. But an awful lot of us are. Maybe that’s because he is not so unlike us? He’s flawed and looking for answers same as we are.
There is something quite magical about the Doctor, what he stands for, and his inimitable style, which is quite uplifting.
˚˙¨*•.¸¸.☆ “Angels can fly because they take themselves lightly.” G.K. Chesterton
Yayy, and for me the Doctor is the sci-fi version of a Buddhist mendicant; wandering the Universe, giving a lift to those he can.
☆*•.¸¸.
As for us, we have limited choice what experiences our will ripen for us next. But we can help others, whilst creating the life we want to live.
❤ Travelling where we want to go
Rory: “AH, the sign does say ‘Keep Out’.” Doctor: “I see ‘keep out’ signs as suggestions, rather than actual orders. Like ‘dry clean only‘”.
The Doctor’s capricious and unpredictable, and bends the rules when needed.
He’s not anarchic, that wouldn’t particularly be of benefit to others. But the Doctor does think for himself, and uses his intuition and inner wisdom to guide him.
This way of playing means the Doctor normally wins the games he finds himself in. He knows and believes in himself, and the magic of things, allowing them to flow as one.
Even when he loses, the Doctor’s magic sparkles and sparks with an understanding that the Universe is a big place, where just about everything is possible.
It’s like with us. The path you’re on might not have turned out to be going in the direction you were planning; but stopping to admire the view gives you chance to evaluate it, use it,
or change it.
Thanks to all who voted in our poll; Lottie won hands down. (✿◠‿◠)❤ That means JasBaku.Com is being replaced by CosmicLoti.Com as the site’s url. (The web address at the top. Though I think JasBaku.Com will still be operational for awhile :~)
Why is this important? Because name matters.
All Phenomena are Mere Name
This is what Buddha said to one of his disciples, Shariputra, when he was giving a discourse on the true nature of reality.
Naming is a process by which we create and define our world.
Buddha was telling his disciple that a name is much more than a label; by naming something we bring it into existence.
Kepler 78b & its star
Like when astronomers discovered this new exoplanet recently:
It was orbiting its star, minding its own business, unnamed, unnoticed, and unimportant.
Now it’s been noted and namedKepler 78b. With a name comes a new state of being, a new status. Kepler 78b has been brought into existence.
She’s got approx. 500 followers and has made some lovely friends 🙂 So thank you all very much for following, dropping by, commenting, and generally being beautiful ♡ I can genuinely say that the blogging experience has become a most interesting, challenging and meaningful part of my life. Best thing is, I know it’s helped others on the way 🙂
To celebrate she’s getting the opportunity to get her very own URL
(the web address at the top).
The domain for JasBaku.com expires in a few weeks ~ the question is now, should she remain at the same address, or should CosmicLoti.com come into her own?
What thinks you?…

Thank You!

Mere Name! Cosmic Loti . Com is here ⍲‿⍲
CosmicLoti.Com is replacing JasBaku.Com as the site’s url.
Why is this important? Planets, your socks and this web log, all came into existence in complete dependence on the process of naming.
Not all her fault. And when I say “patiently accepted“, that’s a wish path that’s improving with practice…
So, why I’ve been gone:
.
* two consecutive MS attacks too close for comfort
.
* work commitments
.
* cosmic energy shifts
.
* heatwave in the UK
*and karma

‘
So my approach?
(Which is a good trick when you can do it)
Watch each situation unfold
with patient acceptance
“Patience is a mind that is able to accept, fully and happily, whatever occurs…having given up on the idea that things should be other than what they are.“
Geshe Kelsang Gyatso
.
It is in this calm, clear space of patient acceptance that the most beautiful of things can happen.
As the Buddhist Master Shantideva said
“If something can be remedied
Why be unhappy about it?
And if there’s no remedy for it,
There is still no point in being unhappy.”
.
This is like releasing attachment to the outcome.
If we have done all we can then it’s best to physically and metaphorically step back from the situation. Surrender and have faith that all is as it should be, no matter what the outcome.
Not the easiest, but it does become more do-able when we’ve seen how well it works.

June 21st at 5:04 am UTC: The Winter / Summer Solstice, depending on which hemisphere you’re in.
As the consciousness of the world shifts into a higher state, you may find yourselves feeling deep love, but also despair in these changing times.
You are not alone! We are all interconnected in a web of loving kindness and peace. There are so many beings awakening here on earth.
By maintaining the frequency of love, light and joy within each one of us, we are assisting in this shift.
“The easiest way to bring yourself into this higher frequency is to activate gratitude within your emotional field – to think of those things that you love – the dolphins, the whales, your own dogs and cats, all beloved children of the earth plane, nature in all its glory and beauty and power, all those who love and support you. Bringing these things into your consciousness, things that you are truly grateful for, these lighten your vibration beyond measure. And smile dear ones – smile the smile of the enlightened Buddha – the smile that acknowledges that all suffering is illusion.”
And so it is.
Namaste.”
* I’ve been doing this meditation in the run up to the Solstice,
and visualising us all in resonance with each other. Lighting up and strengthening each other through the grandmother web of Light & Love is truly blissful.

There is a tribe in Africa where the birth date of a child is counted not from when they were born, nor from when they are conceived but from the day that the child was a thought in its mother’s mind. And when a woman decides that she will have a child, she goes off and sits under a tree, by herself, and she listens until she can hear the song of the child that wants to come. And after she’s heard the song of this child, she comes back to the man who will be the child’s father, and teaches it to him. And then, when they make love to physically conceive the child, some of that time they sing the song of the child, as a way to invite it.
And then, when the mother is pregnant, the mother teaches that child’s song to the midwives and the old women of the village, so that when the child is born, the old women and the people around her sing the child’s song to welcome it. And then, as the child grows up, the other villagers are taught the child’s song. If the child falls, or hurts its knee, someone picks it up and sings its song to it. Or perhaps the child does something wonderful, or goes through the rites of puberty, then as a way of honoring this person, the people of the village sing his or her song.
In the African tribe there is one other occasion upon which the villagers sing to the child. If at any time during his or her life, the person commits a crime or aberrant social act, the individual is called to the center of the village and the people in the community form a circle around them. Then they sing their song to them.
The tribe recognizes that the correction for antisocial behavior is not punishment; it is love and the remembrance of identity. When you recognize your own song, you have no desire or need to do anything that would hurt another.
And it goes this way through their life. In marriage, the songs are sung, together. And finally, when this child is lying in bed, ready to die, all the villagers know his or her song, and they sing—for the last time—the song to that person.
~o~
You may not have grown up in an African tribe that sings your song to you at crucial life transitions, but life is always reminding you when you are in tune with yourself and when you are not. When you feel good, what you are doing matches your song, and when you feel awful, it doesn’t. In the end, we shall all recognize our song and sing it well. You may feel a little warbly at the moment, but so have all the great singers. Just keep singing and you’ll find your way home.
Dobri Dobrev, the Bulgarian altruist,
who begs for money to give away
In Bulgaria, 98 year old Dobri Dobrev, a man who lost his hearing in the second world war, walks 10 kilometers from his village in his homemade clothes and leather shoes to the city of Sofia, where he spends the day begging for money.
though a well known fixture around several of the city’s churches, known for his prostrations of thanks to all donors, it was only recently discovered that he has donated every penny he has collected — over 40,000 euros — towards the restoration of decaying bulgarian monasteries and churches and the utility bills of orphanages, living instead off his monthly state pension of 80 euros.

Gratitude. Almost guaranteed to raise our vibration.
“Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive. Find a way to be thankful for your troubles and they can become your blessings.” Anon
Gratitude is absolutely the way to bring more into your life.

Gratitude attracts what we want
The universal law of attraction says that we will attract into our life the things we think about and focus on. When you are consciously aware of your blessings, and are grateful for them, you are focusing more clearly on what you do want in your life and attracting it to you.
Gratitude improves relationships
We learn the importance of saying “thank you” as little children. We are taught that habit because it is “good manners.” This childhood lesson is extremely powerful.
Think about those people that you know who are most appreciative of you – and let you know it. How do you feel about them? Be grateful for people, their contributions, their talents and their actions – and make sure you let them know how you feel.
Gratitude helps us learn
Behind every problem lies an opportunity. Being grateful for our situation – even if we don’t like everything about it – allows us to be thankful for the opportunity to learn something new.
Gratitude improves
problem solving skills
Too often we look at problem solving with a very jaded view. “Something is wrong. We have barriers in our way. Then, we have to put in effort to fix it.”
Conversely, when we think about what we are grateful for we open our minds up to new possibilities and connections. We also enter a problem solving situation with a perspective of improvement and opportunity rather than challenge or issue.
Gratitude reduces negativity
It is hard to be negative about your situation when you are thinking about things for which you are grateful. One of the fastest ways to improve your mood or outlook is to count your blessings.
