Perseid Meteor Shower
Peaks on Sunday and Monday nights, after 12pm.
A celestial light show, with lots of shooting stars to wish on – — ─━★
In the UK we should be blessed with a new moon and clear-ish skies **
But wherever in the world you are, see how best to view the meteor show in the Huffington Post.
Just in case your weather is all light polluted and cloudy (like it was here last night), NASA will be streaming the celestial light show.
Just for you ;~)
* 12th Aug, 12.30am EDIT: NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center Ustream channel isn’t live until around 9pm EDT, 3am GMT. Before that it’s just a blank screen; or a box with clouds in it and dodgy pop music.
After that it’s high speed sparkly space dust :~)
Homage to patiently accepting everything unwanted and unhelpful
with a mind that’s OK with things not going as planned.

Where is the Meteor Show?
Perseus’s lights streaking across the sky can be seen with the naked eye, and although they’ll be all about, they’ll be radiating from his constellation. This is found between the tip of Cassiopia’s ‘W’ and the Pleiadies.
Looking up at the Pleiadies does feel kinda’ special to me ♡
And the beauty of the night sky puts everything back into perspective when you come back down to earth again.
Really, I only saw a few shooting stars between the clouds last night. But I’ve just realised how very much better I feel for it, despite a serious lack of sleep. (Hence the last-minute decision to share, in case you feel like experiencing some cosmic joy too :~)
❤.¸¸.✧ Cosmic magic!. . • *

☆ * •. ¸ A podcast of my thoughts after the Perseid Meteor Shower,
and stargazing up at the Pleiadies. The universe is so big and special and we’re not separate from it, so we’re all special too. Which is a humbling thought.
★ Please turn your volume up! I get even quieter later on ❤.¸¸.✧
* the 1st line:
“Perseid Meteor Shower – didn’t see many, but the Pleiades looked sweet.”
** this is a Buddhist take of why we’re all one ~ not as separate as we normally think we are.
♡ Thanks for watching :~)
─━★ nb. We pass through the comet Swift-Tuttle’s tale annually, so the Perseid meteors are a regular event – – ─━🙂

** Technically, everywhere will be experiencing a new moon the now, not just the UK. Unless whoever created the moon and its cycles really screwed things up…

Aw, I’m so pleased! Too much light pollution here to see more than a few shooting stars, but even they were magical. I’m glad you got the full effect 🙂

** 4am EDIT. Some tweets are reporting dazzling displays of colorful space debris. Can’t see bugger all but clouds in Bristol UK and on NASA’s live feed 😐
NASA is still playing dodgy pop though…
