Proper Peace Tanks
Bring Peace

If we are Peaceful,

We are Happy.

“We can blossom like a flower,
and everyone in our family,
our entire society,
will benefit from our peace.”

Being Peace, Tich Nhat Hanh

+ = ˚͜˚

Without inner peace,

outer peace is impossible.

“We all wish for world peace, but world peace will never be acheived unless we first establish peace within our own minds. We can send so-called ‘peacekeeping forces’ into areas of conflict, but peace cannot be oppossed from the outside with guns. Only by creating peace within our own mind and helping others to do the same can we hope to achieve peace in this world.”

Transform Your Life, Geshe Kelsang Gyatso

By creating peace in our own mind
we create peace between nations.

“The only work that will ultimately bring any good to any of us
is the work of contributing to the healing of the world.”

M.Williamson

Inner peace is brittle, just when you think you have it cracked, something happens – and boom it`s shattered, I think this affects everyone.
When a peaceful mind is achieved loving and happiness comes naturally.
    Great images.

Yes, I think you’re right Mummaz. A mind of peace is a momentary thing, and can just as easily disintegrate as continue. Our job is to maintain that state of peace for longer and longer periods. That ability comes with practice. And this beautiful state of mind does indeed ripple out to affect our physical and social environment.

And yes, a peaceful mind is naturally happy, because it has no negativity to disturb it. Love arises naturally here, for the same reason. Like the sun shines out when the clouds blow away.

Yes! When a large enough number of folks makes the connection between inner & outer peace, kindness, love, & joy will explode across the planet ……….

This is a very important point; world peace cannot be achieved unless we all find inner peace first. For those viewing the site who doubt or think this is just “Hippy-Shit”(!), we can re-assure them this is quite scientific: when all the causes are assembled, the effect is inevitable:- Become peaceful internally and you will add to the over-all effect of the “exterior” world becoming peaceful. This becomes a mechanical effect if you like but, it is done with love and compassion for all sentient beings. Thanks Jas. _()_

That’s it! My love for simple images and flowers came across as too hippie. I can see that now. And I didn’t explain the mechanics of the Inner Peace ripple effect, but I’ve added another quote, which may help.
(Or not, if the reader is biased against hippies. In which case, what do they expect from a franchise called ‘Cosmic Loti’?!) Honestly!
    Thanks for clarifying things Jon.

    Wonderful post!
You’re a NKT person? Wow, small world. There is a center in Sarasota FL where I started, (now there is a temple). Kadam Nick and Kadam Lucy were my first teachers, changed my life in subtle but profound ways. How nice to bump into you here and thanks for the pingback 🙂

Thank you 🙂 Your post was pretty cool too.
Yes, Geshe-la is my guru ❤ Lucy and Nick were your teachers?! I totally rejoice I’ve never had the privilege, though I’ve seen them around Manjushri Centre when I used to live there. Big fan of Kadampa Life now, too.
Good luck with it all Kris.

Peace is not a relationship of nations. It is a condition of mind brought about by a serenity of soul. Peace is not merely the absence of war. It is also a state of mind. Lasting peace can come only to peaceful people.
