Present Moment, Peaceful Moment

We don’t need to be sat breathing the high mountain air to meditate…

…but sometimes when we’re meditating,
it feels like we are.

 ¸ .• * ॐ शान्तिः text as above :

The heart of Buddhist meditation is mindfulness
– the energy that helps us know what’s happening in the present moment
.”

Tich Naht Hanh

You are day-dreaming about the future because you have not tasted the present.
Start tasting the present
.”

Osho

“This now is it. This.
Your deepest need and desire is satisfied by the moment’s energy here in your hand.

Rumi

“Peace can exist only in the present moment.
If you truly want to be at peace, you must be at peace right now.

Tich Naht Hanh

Mindfulness is the life force of meditation

We don’t need it, but it surely opens doors…

I do like meditating in the sunshine. And you’re right, it is a different experience.
Haven’t tried it on a mountain yet. But I used to sit on the roof of my parents’ house, leaning against the chimney stack. They live on a hill, and the height definitely gave another aspect to contemplations.

I was working on the HTML for this post, when Sengai calls round. “That’s a precarious place to meditate.”
“yeah, but it’s good for death meditations ;~)
